Application Submission
Submission of a booking request does not imply confirmation of the reservation. The requested date will only be secured upon approval by the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) and receipt of full payment.
The availability of a date at the time of request does not guarantee that it will be reserved for you.
All booking requests must be submitted at least 14 days before the requested event date. Late applications may not be accommodated.
The Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) reserves the right to deny applications based on scheduling conflicts, maintenance, or other unforeseen circumstances.
Rental Fees and Payments.
Payment
All agreed payment terms must be strictly adhered to. Furthermore, all payments must be made directly to government-designated accounts.
A refundable deposit may be required for potential damages depending on the nature of the event. Such deposits will be refunded within 7 days post-event, provided no damage or rule violations occur.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be made in writing at least 14 days before the event to qualify for a partial refund.
Cancellations made less than 14 days before the event will forfeit 70% of the rental fee.
LSSC reserves the right to cancel the reservation in the event of emergencies, extreme weather, maintenance, or events outside its control, with full refunds or rescheduled dates provided where applicable.
State activities/events take precedence over other events, particularly on short notice. However, you will be notified on time.
Use of Facilities
The facility must be used solely for the purpose stated in the application. Any unauthorised activities or changes in the event’s scope may result in immediate termination of the rental agreement without a refund or increase in booking fees based on the nature, duration, and specific requirements of the event.
Facility usage must comply with all local laws, regulations, and policies of the Lagos State Government and LSSC.
The event must conclude by the agreed time, including cleanup. Extended time may incur additional charges at the discretion of the LSSC.
Damage and Liability
The applicant is responsible for any damage, loss, or theft that occurs to the facility, equipment, or grounds during their rental period.
LSSC is not liable for personal injury, property loss, or damages suffered by participants or attendees during the event. The applicant must ensure all attendees adhere to safety regulations.
In the event of damage, the cost of repairs will be deducted from the security deposit. If the damages exceed the deposit, the applicant will be responsible for covering the remaining costs.
Insurance and Permits
Depending on the nature and scale of the event, the applicant may be required to provide proof of liability insurance.
The applicant is responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and approvals (e.g., event licenses, safety, fire, or health permits) prior to the event. Failure to produce required permits may result in cancellation.
Security and Safety
For large-scale events, the applicant must provide adequate security personnel in consultation with LSSC.
The Lagos State Sports Commission reserves the right to require additional security or safety measures (e.g., medical staff, fire marshals) based on the nature of the event, at the applicant’s cost.
Cleaning and Maintenance
The applicant is responsible for ensuring that the facility is left in the same condition as it was received. All equipment, decorations, and materials must be removed at the end of the event.
A cleaning fee may apply for excessive waste or failure to clean up. LSSC will provide trash receptacles but it is the applicant’s responsibility to dispose of event waste.
Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
- Smoking within the facility or surrounding areas.
- Use of alcohol or drugs unless expressly permitted in writing by LSSC.
- Unauthorized commercial activities, vending, or advertising.
- Open flames, fireworks, or any other hazardous materials.
- Violation of these prohibitions will result in immediate termination of the event and forfeiture of any fees paid.
Noise and Public Disturbance
Noise levels must be kept at a reasonable volume, respecting the local community and surrounding areas.
LSSC reserves the right to monitor and adjust sound levels during the event. Excessive noise that results in complaints may lead to early termination of the event.
Force Majeure
LSSC is not responsible for any failure to perform its obligations due to events beyond its control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government actions, or strikes. In such cases, the applicant may be eligible for a full refund or rescheduled date.
Compliance with Government Directives
The applicant agrees to comply with any directives, guidelines, or restrictions issued by the Lagos State Government or national authorities, including but not limited to public health protocols, crowd control measures, and other State-sanctioned regulations relating to the use of public spaces.
By submitting the booking request for the use of our facility, the applicant acknowledges having read, understood, and agreed to the Terms and Conditions of the Lagos State Sports Commission for booking of its facility. The applicant also confirms that all information provided in the application is accurate and complete.
